The online record also displays the date of the most recently received issue. Periodicals are shelved alphabetically, not using any library classification system.

They can provide useful information to guide you in your research. Reference books can be located by checking Unicorn. The reference collections are located on the first floors of both libraries. Fine Arts - Verschoor Collection - AlbanyThe Helen L.Verschoor Fine Arts Collection is housed in the north end of the Second Floor. With over 5000 books, the extensive circulating collection supports the Sage JCA programs in Fine Arts. Helen Verschoor, who served as Librarian from 1961-1985, was largely responsible for the development and enrichment of the collection. A fund, named in her memory, has been established to support the purchase of fine arts library materials. Media CollectionsThe Media collection includes over 12,000 items in a variety of formats 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch video cassettes, slide-tapes, filmstrips, audio cassettes, and compact disks. Media materials are kept at the circulation desk in Albany and in the Basement in Troy. In Troy, circulating titles are located on the north side of the basement level; reserved media materials are at the circulation desk. Many items in the Media collection do not circulate and must be used on the premises. Others may be loaned to Sage faculty on a short term basis. Josephine Hare Room, just off the main lobby of the Troy Campus Library, this collection is quite comprehensive for 20th century poetry in English, mostly by North Americans. This collection, supported by a bequest in memory of a Russell Sage woman who died while a student, is considered one of the best such collections in New York State.
