On the Day I was Born...

To find events that took place on a specific day in history, you have several options. 

First, you can use the library databases to look at historical newspapers, magazines, and journals, such as the New York Times. You can also use the library's collection of print periodicals, which is stored in the basement of both libraries. In addition, you could also use the websites listed below to get you started!

The New York Times

To find articles in the New York Times from a specific day in history, start by going to Journals A to Z. Do a search for the New York Times, and select the ProQuest Historical Newspapers. This will open a new window where you will be able to view all the articles in the New York Times on a specific date.

Keep in mind...

Some periodicals, such as Newsweek and Time, assign their publications an advanced date. This means that events that are reported in these publications will appear in the issue dated after the event.
