Conditions for Access and Use of Sage Colleges Library Buildings and Collections

The Sage Libraries' circulating and reference collections are open for use by the general public and Sage-affiliated persons during all service hours. Loan of materials from the general collections is restricted to people with proper identification as defined in the section on borrowing information. Extension of all access and use privileges depend on patrons' compliance with all library policies and procedures.

  • Individuals should be prepared to show, or leave on deposit at the Circulation Desk, proper identification when requested.
  • All persons, when requested, must be prepared to allow the inspection of any briefcases, knapsacks, or other items large enough to contain library materials.
  • Sage students, faculty and staff have priority in the use of library resources. Other researchers may be asked to show identification.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Smoking is forbidden in any library building.
  • Food and beverages are permitted as specified in each Library:
    Sage College of Albany
    - non-carpeted areas
    Clark Library, Russell Sage
    - in specified study areas throughout the building.
  • Eating and drinking are prohibited at all computer workstations.
  • Guide dogs are the only animals allowed in any library building.
  • Comply with Library Borrowing Policies.
  • Maintain a quiet atmosphere in the libraries at all times.
  • Leave promptly at closing times and during emergency drills.
